WELCOME TO SaxArt !
SaxArt is a Contemporary Fine Art Gallery that was founded with simple goals- to showcase "local" and "regional" artists, and in the process, highlight Saxapahaw as a positive, growing, creative cultural community. We strive to reach this goal by creating a greater community awareness of the arts and art related events.
Located in the heart of Saxapahaw, in the historic Sellars Building, The SaxArt Gallery is an "unexpected gem". The Gallery is proud to represent over 50 mid-career and emerging artists and craftsmen and has rapidly become a vital part of the Contemporary Fine Art Scene in both the Triangle and Triad Regions of North Carolina!
New shows are mounted each month with a "featured artist" exhibit in the front of the Gallery. A rich diversity of mediums and subject matter are evident in the selection of works exhibited. Artist receptions will be held on the 1st Sunday of each month from 2:00-5:00 PM and always include great food and music!
EVENTS
Make memories at the SaxArt Gallery. Your Saxapahaw wedding, cocktail reception, luncheon, dinner, business meeting or holiday party becomes a unique event within the art of the gallery. Our goal is to make your event memorable and remarkable!
Our largest space is the Elegant Main Gallery. Once the Company Store for the Dixie Yarn Cotton Mill; this space within the "historic" Sellars Building has undergone a spectacular renovation making it Saxapahaw's finest venue for outstanding celebrations. for more intimate gatherings, the Meet Locker includes artwork from the Galleries Collection in a pub-like setting, complete with a European Style courtyard. this room is perfect for luncheons, dinners and smaller meetings. the Main Gallery is also equipped for musical performances featuring our baby grand piano.
Planning your event at The SaxArt Gallery of Fine Art is an excellent way to introduce your guests to the community of Saxapahaw and also the wonderful collections and exciting programs offered at the Gallery. We encourage you to include time during your event for guests to view current exhibitions. Special tours or experiences in the gallery or the Village can also be arranged. Revenue generated by hosting an event at the Gallery benefits the Artistic Community of Saxapahaw.
VISIT SAXAPAHAW Stroll through the historic village or down alongside the Haw River. Hear exciting music in the Haw River Ballroom and have a snack or a meal in Saxapahaw’s renowned restaurants and Coffee Shop. Visit Flying Beagle Books; a delightful independent bookstore. Visit Benjamin Vineyards or Roxy Farms Antiques. Come to The SaxArt Gallery and enjoy Fine Contemporary Art from local, regional and nationally-known artists.
The SaxArt Gallery is located in a lovely country community near Chapel Hill, NC. While a bit off the beaten path, Saxapahaw is convienent to both the Triangle and Triad Regions and just a short 30 minute drive from just about anywhere.
